Worldwide PocketMedia® specialist Z-CARD® Ltd has launched the first RFID Z-CARD®, combining a smart ticketing solution and a destination map, for Dublin Bus, Ireland. The innovative new RFID Z-CARD®s deliver communications in a compact, retainable credit card sized format combined with a bus pass ticketing solution.
The Dublin 3 day Freedom Ticket Z-CARD® is now available for purchase from tourist offices, airport information desks, and newsagents across Dublin. Tourists simply hold the Z-CARD® to a smartcard ticket reader on the bus to activate their pass for a 3 day (72 hour) period.

"We wanted to offer an all-in-one compact, portable solution combining travel ticket and information and are very excited about the initial positive response from visitors to Dublin who have used the new style 3 day Freedom Ticket."
Z-CARD® Ltd and Dublin Bus worked closely with Magnadata, a leading transport ticketing specialists, to develop the new innovation. The Z-CARD®s contain an RFID chip within the front cover which activates the ticket when held to a reader. After a 72 hour period the ticket automatically deactivates.
